Welcome! It takes courage to seek therapy, and I look forward to supporting you. My own journey to mental, emotional & spiritual health has had many twists & turns. I'm passionate about how the power of therapy can restore lives in vibrant ways, like it did my own. I've been working in the helping field for 25+ years as a social worker, with a focus on developmental trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, and healing from abuse and abandonment. I enjoy working with couples as well as individuals.
Research shows it's never too late to repair our nervous systems and lives. My goal is to not just help you heal trauma triggers, but retrain mind & body for a new sense of safety and connection. I use a blend of "trauma informed" practices (verbal and non-verbal) including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic and other nonverbal modes. In working with couples, I also use DBT, Gottman and EFT.
You will find me to be caring, supportive, and interested in you. I want you to feel safe and comfortable in sessions. Together, we'll personalize a blend of practices, at the pace and style that fit you best. Some people want to dive in with IFS, others prefer starting with lighter cognitive-behavioral approach, and others want more non-verbal, somatic work. The safety and connection of our therapeutic relationship will be the foundation, no matter what style you choose to explore first.
